Guillermo E. Bongolan Memorial Lodge No.330
The Name
This lodge was named in honor of Guillermo E. Bongolan, a former Board Member and Assemblyman from Nueva Viscaya. A Mason for sixty years, Bongolan was raised in Magat Lodge in 1933 and became the Master of his lodge in 1947. From 1959 to 1961 he was the DDGM of Masonic District No.3
The Lodge
On March 16, 1999, a petition for the issuance of a dispensation to form a new lodge in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya to be named Guillermo E. Bongolan Memorial Lodge was filed with the Grand Lodge by 30 Master Masons, all of whom were residing in or near Bayombong. Four days later, Grand Master Enrique L. Locsin issued the requested dispensation and named Victor M. de la Cruz as the Dispensation Master, Purisimo L. Tiam as Senior Warden and Candido P. Baquiran as Junior Warden. On March 27, 1999, MW Locsin motored to Bayombong where he instituted the lodge and installed its officers.
Guillermo E. Bongolan Memorial Lodge was organized too close to the annual communication of the Grand Lodge that was held the following month, April 22-24, 1999, because of which the lodge failed to comply with the requirements of the Grand Lodge. The Committee of Charters, therefore, did
not recommend that it be given a charter and instead asked the Grand Lodge to extend its dispensation.
At the next annual communication of the Grand Lodge held on April 27 to 29, 2000, the Grand Lodge was satisfied with the performance of the lodge. It granted the lodge a charter and assigned to it number 330. On May 27, 2000, Grand Master Oscar V. Bunyi, with the assistance of several Masonic dignitaries, constituted Guillermo E. Bongolan Memorial Lodge No. 330 and installed its officers.
