Baganian Peninsula Lodge No. 275 (Formerly known as Margosatubig)

The Name

This lodge is named after the town of Margosatubig in Zamboanga del Sur Margosatubig is derived from the subano word "malagustubig" meaning "swift water."

The Lodge

This lodge was organized by twenty-six Master Masons in good standing who were members of Pagadian Lodge No. 153, Sibuguey Lodge No. 246. and Lorenzo Tan Memorial Lodge No. 265. Grand Master Pedro W. Guerzon gave them a dispensation on December 11, 1985 authorizing them to form a lodge in Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur to be named Margosatubig Lodge.

During the annual communication of the Grand Lodge in April 1986, the Grand Lodge, on the recommendation of the Committee on Charters, granted the lodge a charter and assigned to it number 275. The Committee based its recommendation on its finding that the lodge had met seven times, conferred the three degrees of Masonry on two candidates, was financially sound and had acquired the required paraphernalia. Margosatubig Lodge was constituted into a regular lodge by Grand Master Reynold S. Fajardo, with the assistance of Masonic dignitaries, on July 12,1986.
