HERITAGE

It was in the year 2011 that VW FLORENDO “BOBBY” OPAY pursued his aspiration to establish a Masonic Lodge in the Island of SIQUIJOR. This aspiration was shared by the late VW BEN ALIPIO and WB Doming CABAHUG, who both belong to the same mother lodge as VW Bobby ---the GLICERIO A. LIM, Sr. Memorial Lodge No. 222. To make this dream come true, VW BOBBY established   in the Municipality of LARENA, SIQUIJOR and opened an extension of his law office there. Locals in the island who have long wondered about freemasonry went to him to signify interest in the craft. Unfortunately, the establishment of the lodge would not happen that year because of the untimely demise of VW BEN.IN THE YEAR 2012, WITH THE HELP OF OTHER BRETHREN (notably VW JEORGE C.PADERANGA, Jr., VW ROBERTO R. BARCELA, JR. VW TEOPISTO V. CABAGNOT, JR., VW JUAN D. DELA CRUZ, VW HILARIO ABEL B. GOMEZ) and the support of DATU LAPU-LAPU LODGE NO. 347 (notably VW SANSALUNA A. PINAGAYAO, VW VIRGILIO S. PONGASE, WB RAMMY B. SALVADOR and BROS. ARNOLD M. BOCAYONG and DAVID ALEXANDER S. PATRIANA), the documents for the creation of the lodge were put in order. However, the institution of the lodge was still not granted that year. It was only in November 27, 2013 that the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines under Most Worshipful JUANITO G. ESPINO, JR. finally instituted SIQUIJOR LODGE, U.D. The event was held only a few days after the country was devastated by two successive typhoons, the super typhoon Yolanda and ZORAIDA. But despite the poor weather conditions, over fifty Master Masons joined the Grand Lodge Officers in the institution in the Municipality of Maria, SIQUIJOR. On June 20, 2015 the SIQUIJOR Lodge No. 418 was finally given its own charter by the GLP under the helm of Most Worshipful TOMAS G. RENTOY III.

HERALDRY

The lodge was named after the island on which it is situated, SIQUIJOR ISLAND. The seal shows the glowing island of SIQUIJOR in between the two Masonic Pillars with the square and compass superimposed on it. It also shows fireflies for which the island was known for. The fireflies and the glow of the island allude to the mysteries which earned the island the nickname Isla DEL Fuego.

HEART

The lodge is known for its display of friendship, humility and perseverance. The PROBINSYANO values of its members are evident in gatherings.
